Coelops
frithii
pen & ink on A6 paper
Despite an extensive distribution in mainland
SE-Asia, Coelops frithii is rarely encountered
in the wild and appears to be scarce throughout
its range. Most authors regard the species as
a forest dweller, but its natural history remains
essentially unknown. In July 2006 and May 2007,
three individuals of C. frithii (two males and
one female) were collected by Neil Furey during
an ongoing research program at Kim Hy Nature Reserve
(22°11'-22°18'N, 105°54-106°08'E)
in north-east Vietnam.
